Lady Bird Beetle

Ladybugs are bugs, they're beetles and "Lady" refers to the Virgin Mary and they were give the honorary name "Our Lady's Beetle."  They use aposematic coloration to signal their toxicity to would be predators.  They consume a lot of plant damaging pests and are considered desireable insects.
