Four Spot Sailor Butterfly

The Four-spot Sailor (Neptis tetralisa) is a fast, low-flying butterfly found along forest paths in India and Southeast Asia.  True to its name, it moves in a smooth, sailing pattern with sudden bursts of speed.  Its larvae feed on plants like Mussaenda and Clerodendrum, and it often rests with wings open - unusual among butterflies in its family.
