The glorious purplewing butterfly (Eunica sophonisba) is found in Central and South America. Males display iridescent purple wings, while females have brown wings and blue spots.  Known for their rapid, erratic flight, they feed on rotting fruit and tree sap.  their populations are declining due to habitat loss, making conservation efforts crucial for their survival.
